See that boy over there doing his homework in homeroom? He couldn’t do it last night because he was talking his bestfriend outta suicide. See that girl over there, The one with her face caked on with makeup? She’s abused at home and needs that to feel pretty. See that boy, the one that wears long sleeves everyday? He wears them to cover his scars. You see her, the one with the jeans and big tshirts? She’s bullied so much she thinks she’s fat and is now bulimic. See him, with the cheap old hand me down clothes? His family can’t afford food for half the month, let alone get name brand stuff. I’m against suicide, abuse, and bullying. Like if you are too.
My friend an I were bullied in the 9th grade. The people that were doing it took it too far too many times. They screamed go die at us in the hall, put sour food and bleach in our lockers, sent us death notes, called us names like fat (we were both size 0&1) whore,slut,(I had my first kiss… And she hadnt kissed anyone yet). They didn’t know what we were going through at home. My family life was fine but a bit lonely and we were having problems. At my friends house she was getting physically and sexually abused by her father every day. Which when I found out I alerted an administrator immediately. That person did nothing. I told another one about everything. She did nothing. By the end of the term I had lost my best friend to her fathers gun. I lost the friend that I had grown up with and shared countless hours with, my BEST friend killed herself because no matter how much I tried to get help nobody would help us and because the bullying got so bad. It’s been 3 years since she died. I’ve preached on suicide for many years even before she died. But now I have even more of a reason to help others. So please think before you speak or act. Because you may never know what that person is going through.
